Psychotherapy Services

Modern psychotherapy has evolved through a variety of lenses including  social science, spirituality and neuroscience. It is an organic field that can be molded to meet the evolving needs of clients. Negative beliefs, self-limiting emotions, past trauma and current life stressors all work together to create dysfunction, and it is this dysfunction that we hope to explore together with the goal of creating a path to internal harmony.  Home-LA clinicians integrate the many schools of psychotherapeutic thought with decades of experience and education to personalize therapeutic treatment. We thrive to empower clients to live their best lives.  We honor the delicacy of the therapeutic relationship and understand that healing comes in many forms.

Our clinicians are trained in multiple modalities for psychotherapy which include but are not limited to: psychoanalysis, psychodynamic and behavioral therapy, internal family systems (IFS), somatic experiencing, and EMDR. These models work synergistically by bridging the conscious and unconscious to reduce internal conflicts– recognizing we have many internal parts driving us to behave in ways that are sometimes counterproductive. It is our goal to explore the relationship between the different parts of ourselves, to understand and heal in order to live life to the fullest.

Recovery and Addiction Consultation Services

Home-LA works in partnership with clients to create a personalized treatment plan. The process begins with getting to know you as an individual. Through information gathering we will discover which modalities you’ve tried, find out what has or hasn’t worked, discuss your options and create an integrated individualized treatment program. In an ongoing effort to support mind body and spirit, we explore drug, alcohol and other complicated addictive patterns to address their underlying causes. We appreciate the nuanced challenge of finding the right plan. Clinicians and caregivers at Home-LA draw from decades of addiction recovery, psychiatry, psychology and spiritual work to develop a creative approach with clients and their families. In addition, we provide support to facilitate connection with external resources such as inpatient detox, rehabilitation centers, sober living or creative and personalized outpatient approaches to meet your specific needs.

Somatic Therapy

Soma means body in latin. The mind body connection allows us to recognize ways in which we store our lived experiences in the body. It offers us a Neurobiological understanding of how the body holds onto trauma. This therapy speaks to bringing the body into the therapeutic healing process. Somatic therapy is less about thinking and more about feeling, learning to be present with the body and be aware of how our nervous system responds to sensory and remembered information. Learning how to tune in to what the body needs. One of the goals of somatic therapy with clients that have a history of trauma is learning to be the one to control the nervous system as opposed to the nervous system controlling us.

Psychedelic Integration

Psychedelic experiences create a non ordinary state of consciousness that can offer profound transformation. Oftentimes during the psychedelic experience previous traumas or childhood experiences present themselves and through integration we have the opportunity to make meaning out of difficult experiences. Integration is the process that allows a momentary glimpse of illumination to evolve into sustained changes.

Wrap Around Care

As clients complete residential care, they may seek additional therapies as stepping stones in their healing process. Whether one is seeking to stabilize and integrate new lifestyles or are ready for trauma work, we offer a container to support and help clients develop accountability as they explore new behavior patterns. Wraparound services include case management, career planning, psychotherapy, medication management and ongoing personalization of an individual’s recovery.  We honor the delicate balance between structure and freedom as clients find their way towards a healthier lifestyle.

Group Therapy

Isolation and the lack of human connection can lead to depression, anxiety and existential crisis. Group therapy offers the benefits of reconnection with each other and ourselves, and opportunity to heal in community and can be less expensive than individual services. Home-LA offers group therapy ketamine sessions and group integration. Groups are cohort specific.  Some past groups have been specific to address in trauma, substance use,  grief and loss, depression, social anxiety and life transitions. Interested?
